College Recruitment Program

Do you want an exciting career contributing to an industry that creates products essential to everyday life?  For more than 40 years, Carpenter Technology has offered  a wide array of Co-Op and Internship opportunities to help students apply what they've learned in school to real-life work experiences. Every Co-op/Intern is assigned a corporate mentor in the student’s field of study to help them learn their way around their work site. Many students hone their technical skills and learn about the world of work each year; many return to the company in entry-level positions. Outside of a challenging and rewarding work experience, we offer a competitive salary, paid holidays, and fun-filled summer outings. Programs include part-time 6 month co-ops year-round, and full-time summer internships, depending on which department you will be contributing to. Students living outside of a 50 mile radius of their work site may qualify for a housing or commuting stipend.

General Requirements for the College Program

To be considered for any position, candidates must be full-time students with a strong academic record. All positions require self-starters who are highly motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of Carpenter’s pre-employment selection process which includes a drug and alcohol screen.

Students must display an understanding of the need for continuous improvement. Individuals are expected to pursue increased quality and productivity in their work on a daily basis. Improvement should remain continuous and organization-wide in order to increase efficiency in all that Carpenter does.
